Meet Kirby. She is my first and favorite pet. I named her after a character from a Nintendo video game, because she is round and cute like Kirby the character.

Hedgehogs are nocturnal animals. When I wake up, Kirby falls asleep. Her lifestyle is well-suited for my lawyer life.

What do domesticated hedgehogs eat?
A proper diet for hedgehogs is high in protein and low in fat. I feed Kirby a mix of certain high-protein, low-fat cat foods. Some hedgehogs enjoy eating snacks like mealworms or vegetables. Kirby is picky and doesn’t enjoy snacking.
Does she have a cage?
Yes. Hedgehog cages take up space. My hedgie’s cage is approximately 3 feet by 1 foot.
Is she too pointy to hold?
No. If she doesn’t want to be held, she can be huffy and stick out her quills. But even
then, she is safe to hold.
Can you keep hedgehogs in a cage together?
Hedgehogs are not social animals and should not be housed together.
